This project is a great way to introduce your students to researching facts on their own, using a very interesting topic. Out theme for this semester is animals. Each class will study a different type of animal, with the hope of turning our school into a "Zoo!" The first step is to find information, then visually show student's knowledge by turning our room into a habitat for reptiles. The students do most of the work, and the teacher is there for guidance, support, and to keep sanity in the classroom!

A great way to teach liquids and solids. Have the students determine if the Oobleck is a liquid or a solid. Friction causes it to be a solid and it also acts like a liquid when lying in a bowl. Dr. Seuss has a book called "Bartholomew and the Oobleck that goes along with this also. I used a Venn Diagram to compare liquids and solids and then compared the characteristics of Oobleck to both.
